The 2015 Honda CR-V: A Bold New Direction

October 3rd, 2014 by

When drivers are looking for a new family crossover, the CR-V has always been one of the most popular choices at Bosak Honda in Michigan City, and now that we’ve seen the features of the 2015 CR-V, we can proudly say that it looks like Honda’s crossover will continue to serve area drivers well. Launching October 1st, the new CR-V has undergone a significant mid-cycle refresh,

changing up some of its looks and features.

New Standard Features

Honda has been redefining what drivers expect from the standard features on newer models, giving you access to some of the best in technology without needing to upgrade. So it came as little surprise to us to hear that they had added even more onto the standard amenities for the CR-V LX.

Take a look at what you can find on each and every CR-V (new items for 2015 are in bold):

  • Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio
  • Touchscreen infotainment system (the Honda i-MID)
  • Steering wheel-mounted controls
  • Built-in rearview camera
  • Center console armrest
  • Rear console ventilation ducts
  • Sliding sun visors

Available features received an update too, adding on amenities like a power tailgate, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and LED daytime running lights.

Updated, More Efficient Engine

Of course, one of the most exciting updates to the CR-V is under the hood. The new direct-injection Earth Dreams Technology i-VTEC engine is paired with a standard continuously variable transmission (CVT). This 2.4L four-cylinder engine is capable of 185 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque, yet despite the increased capabilities, it’s also more efficient than the previous model. Drivers of the 2015 CR-V 2WD LX will enjoy an EPA-estimated highway fuel economy of 34 mpg.* If you decide to upgrade to four-wheel drive, the 2015 CR-V 4WD LX earns an EPA-estimated 33 highway mpg.*
