Serving Michigan City, La Porte, and Valparaiso, IN

Honda has been producing quality vehicles for decades. There are many impressive Honda models and years available, but the king of economic utility is probably the Honda Fit. This compact hatchback comes in a variety of styles and packages. It’s jam-packed with tons of amazing and subtle driver-friendly features. It truly is one of the most ergonomic and unique little vehicles you’ll ever see! Drivers who want to take home a Fit may find themselves in a bit of a conundrum: which is better, the highly acclaimed 2017 Honda Fit, or the all-new 2018 model? Comparing them side by side can be very helpful. Below, we’ll take a look at how they stack up in a few key categories; we hope to help you decide which Fit would make a good fit for you!

Driving Performance

The 2018 Honda Fit comes in four trim levels: The LX, Sport, EX and EX-L. All of these packages come standardly equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and front wheel drive, though upgrades are possible. The revamped suspension system, thick exterior sound insulation, and updated driver aids make getting behind the wheel of the new 2018 Fit a very calming and comfortable experience. The 2018 Fit drives very smoothly and has a fun and highly responsive feel. It’s both sporty and classy.

2017 Fits come with the same trim level options. They drive very similarly to the 2018 models, though they don’t quite have the same levels of smoothly polished refinement.

Appearance

For 2018, the Fit has been completely updated. It features an updated infotainment system features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the new user-friendly touchscreen is a definite bonus. Smartphone integration is another impressive new feature. The new exterior feels both rugged and classy, while the cabin is constructed of durable feeling high-quality materials. You may be surprised at how much space there is inside of this car! An abundance of folding and storing options makes this one of the most utility friendly and efficient little cars available anywhere.

For 2017, the interior isn’t quite as high-end feeling. A smaller infotainment system and fewer tech options are a definite downside. However, the 2017 Fit still has all of the storage options that drivers love.

Safety

Both Fits are very safe. For 2018, the Fit has been equipped with many new safety features like active safety technology, impressive driver aids, and more. Blind spot monitoring and lane departure warning are also available in 2018 models!
